The discovery of soccer
Our pre-academy CO-ED program for 3-year-old players, provides a positive introduction to the basics of soccer (dribbling, striking, goal scoring, etc.) by teaching skills in a friendly, pressure-free environment.
LEARN THE BASICS OF SOCCER (U4)
Edmonton Fusion FC’s philosophy for the pre-academy program is to develop a passion for the game of soccer and a love of the ball. The emphasis will be on movement exercises and games that promote a feel for the ball while teaching basic principles of play within a fun but a structured setting in accordance with the standards laid out by the Canadian Soccer Association. The sessions are designed to nurture a love for soccer and act as a stepping stone for players wishing to enter our U5 program the following season.
This is a parent-child program designed to experience the joy of playing soccer and being active. The program consists of ball activities that promote balance, coordination, awareness, and confidence. We focus on physical literacy and fun. Our “discovery of soccer” program is designed to build some confidence and skills and to also prepare each player for a more structured learning environment. This program requires parent engagement and parents actively participate alongside the Academy’s coaches.
Young players receive beautiful session badges that highlight key physical, cognitive, and soccer skills. There are as many badges to collect as there are sessions. Children will love showing their badges to their teammates and family!
Session of 45min – Led by staff coaches. Parent participation is mandatory.
