SPOND is a mobile application that makes it easy to plan, organize and communicate around your children’s activities, helping you to stay informed and organized more easily. SPOND will allow you to receive real-time notifications of important updates and changes, or to communicate directly with the coordinator.

1st time use. How to install SPOND?

You can install SPOND directly from the email you receive from the club upon confirmation of your registration or directly from the AppStore or Google Play.

Soccer Shoes

Outdoor season: In order to provide optimal practice and safety for children, soccer shoes with cleats must be worn.

Indoor season: If the activities take place in a gym, regular sports shoes are required. In the case of synthetic turf, special shoes are required. The club will notify parents in the case of sessions played on turf.

  • The presence of parents is mandatory during the sessions unless notified otherwise.
  • Encourage your children and remind them that they are here to have fun and learn!
  • Participate when/if required
  • Repeat instructions to children as necessary to ensure that they understand, especially the lower categories.
  • Ensure that children understand and follow the code of conduct.

Edmonton Fusion FC is committed to providing a safe, positive, and respectful sport environment for all parents, players, coaches, and referees. Any parent, player, or coach that violates the terms set forth in the Code of Conduct may be subject to immediate dismissal from the Pre-academy program without warning, and will not receive a refund on program or registration fees.

These terms include, but are not limited to:

  • Displays of aggressive or rude behaviour.
  • Use of abusive or aggressive language.
  • Displays of offensive, racist, sexist, or abusive language or actions.
  • Any harassment, bullying, or verbal abuse of any kind.
  • Any physical abuse of any kind.
  • Degradation of equipment

To provide a positive experience for all participants, and only if necessary, behavioral monitoring may be done on a few aspects of your child’s attitude and participation (following instructions, respecting other participants, participating in activities, etc.). If this happens, please take a few minutes to discuss it with your child and, if necessary, do not hesitate to talk to his/her coach.

In the event of inclement weather or facility conditions, Edmonton Fusion FC reserves the right to cancel any practices, games, or team events with limited notice. Given the limited availability of fields, the club is unable to reschedule or replay any practices or games which are cancelled or suspended due to weather or facility conditions. Every effort will be made to proceed with scheduled events as long as it is safe to do so.

In the event that Edmonton Fusion FC’ coaches and/or directors decide to cancel a practice or game due to inclement weather or facility conditions, every effort will be made to contact all affected families as soon as possible to communicate the changes

  • Rain or Shine

Unless the weather poses a significant safety risk, compromises the conditions of the facility, or we are forced by the facility to cancel, all Edmonton Fusion FC sessions will continue as scheduled unless notified.

  • Lightning/Thunder

In the event of lightning or thunder during practices or games, all practices and games will be immediately halted. All parties are to quickly leave the field and seek shelter in a safe location. Players are not to return to the field – and the game will not be resumed – until 15 minutes after the last thunder or lightning. Coaches/Program coordinator have been advised to take a “better safe than sorry” approach concerning electrical storms and to always act with player safety in mind.

  • Facility and Fields Conditions

Practices or games may also be cancelled in the event of unsuitable field conditions. Edmonton Fusion FC maintains its programs by obtaining permits for a variety of fields. The owners of these fields have differing policies on when fields may not be used, but generally, if there has been significant rainfall that leaves standing water on the field, creates unsafe conditions for players or increases the likelihood of significant damage to the field, practices or games will not be played.

⚠️ No refunds or credits of any kind will be offered for any missed practices or games due to weather or facility closures. Edmonton Fusion FC will always make a strong effort to ensure all practices and games are played as scheduled, but extenuating circumstances may apply in some cases.

Refunds are issued in the following circumstances:

  • Injury or illness: If a participant cannot continue with the program due to injury or illness, the Club will provide a prorated refund based on the number of sessions missed. A doctor’s note will be required.
  • Program cancellation by Club: If we cancel the program for any reason, the Club will fully refund all participants.
  • Participant cancellation:
    • If a cancellation is made more than 30-days from the start of the program, a full refund less the $40.00 admin fee will be processed.
    • If a cancellation is made between 7 and 30 days from the start of the program, a full program credit will be processed and can be redeemed towards any youth program.
    • If a cancellation is made less than 7-days from the start of a program, no refund or credit will be applied.
  • Refunds for extenuating circumstances: In cases of extenuating circumstances, such as relocation, the Club will consider a refund on a case-by-case basis.
