We do more than play soccer
Based in the city’s Francophone Quarter, Edmonton Fusion FC is a soccer club incorporated as a not-for-profit organization in 2018. Completely run by passionate volunteers, “Fusion” offers services in both official languages. We are proud to be actively involved in the Edmonton francophone community.

We know the power of soccer and how it can bring people together. We believe soccer should be accessible and fun, but also be driven by a purpose. We started Edmonton Fusion to do exactly this: be here for the people, for the community.
While there are many teams and soccer development initiatives in the city, what has been missing is a community club with a mission that motivates players and volunteers, a community club to follow and support and in turn, supports and represents our community.
We want to connect, entertain, and inspire the community, and believe that Edmonton Fusion can bring more than just soccer, through soccer.
We have chosen a name that can be read and understood in French and English. “Fusion” represents the club’s desire to provide services in both of Canada’s official languages and to bring communities together.

A UNIQUE CLUB WITH VALUABLE PROJECTS
We believe that our club, through soccer and the collective work of its members, can play a role in integration. One of Edmonton Fusion’s objectives is to strive for athletic performance and excellence while serving as a socio-educational actor. We want to ensure the accessibility of our programs and events, regardless of people’s economic, cultural, and social backgrounds. These programs are created to link the club with the community and contribute to making it a better place.
The overarching principle is to carry out concrete and recurring actions, designed to develop “openness to diversity” and “a sense of responsibility”.
All of the Edmonton Fusion FC’s projects are based on its own resources and help from its partners. However, the collaboration of third party social and cultural organizations gives an extra dimension to and strengthens the projects. Therefore, our club seeks to cultivate a network of partnerships with organizations in the area.
With its motto “strength in unity,” Edmonton Fusion FC brings all members and partners together in an educational, athletic and social project.

MISSION STATEMENT
Our mandate is to promote and develop soccer activities, while providing leadership and supervision for a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for members of all ages. We are committed to encouraging fair play and sportsmanship, playing a central role in the personal and athletic development of participants, promoting an active lifestyle for every club member, and actively contributing to the well-being of our community.
More specifically, we :
- teach the practice of soccer and the values of fair play and discipline that are specific to it ;
- contribute to the social, civic and personal development of our participants ;
- use soccer as an educational tool on themes such as racism, discrimination, gender equality and civic responsibility ;
- enhance multiculturalism, bring the community together and support its cohesion ;
- contribute to the identity building of our members in both official languages.
We strive to develop players capable of competing at the highest levels of competitive soccer. Our ultimate goal as a club is to encourage, inspire and empower each player to be able to reach the highest level possible within the game and in life, while helping create leaders and individuals that will inspire others to do the same. Edmonton Fusion wants to create a culture that provides a foundation for all to reach their fullest potential on and off the field while having the ultimate soccer experience. We strive to transmit and use the passion for soccer to achieve educational and social cohesion objectives.
We consider that the Edmonton Fusion is a “social contributor” as much as a “sporting competitor”, and that its operation is part of a life project.

- Unity and community – Edmonton Fusion FC is a unifying place, linked to its community, where there is no discrimination on ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or culture.
- Give Back – Find ways to show your appreciation for the community that supports our sport and helps make it possible.
- Recognize Soccer as a Valuable Community Asset – Help sport live up to its full potential. Enable it to contribute to the well-being of the entire community.
- Champion Ethical Conduct – Commit to fair play. Make respect for the rules, officials, coaches and players a priority – Both on and off the field.
- Promote Inclusion – Remove barriers. Encourage participation. Make it possible for everyone to get involved and stay involved.
- Strengthen Connections – Create opportunities for people to get together through sport. Make newcomers feel welcome. Promote friendship, trust, cooperation and respect.
- Support Excellence – Teams and athletes carry the hearts and hopes of the community wherever they compete. Help them to be the best they can be.
- Foster Healthy, Active Lifestyles – Inspire people to get active and stay active. Offer a variety of sport opportunities – both structured and unstructured – that are inviting, enjoyable and rewarding for all.
- Create Safe and Welcoming Environments – Develop, protect and nurture places and spaces that are hospitable and conducive to the safe enjoyment of sport.
- Celebrate Contribution – Recognize and honour the people – coaches, organizers, officials and volunteers – whose contribution makes sport possible and positive in the community.
