Fusion is getting momentum!


Edmonton Fusion FC men’s team played two games in four days. After an unexpected loss against Fiji Youth 2-3, Fusion overtook of one of the season’s best teams, Pumas Old Boys, with a 2-1 victory.

The defeat against Fiji Youth was difficult despite a good game. Edmonton Fusion’s Zak Belhat scored the first goal (1-0) before the opponents equalized and then took the lead (1-2). Reduced to 10 players after a Fusion’s player received two yellow cards, Fiji Youth scored a third goal (1-3). Jonathan Bélanger reduced the score gap at the end of the game (2-3).

Against Pumas Old Boys, Edmonton Fusion FC were mostly in possession of the ball and scored the first goal by Zak Belhat (1-0). However, Pumas’ talented players equalized a few minutes later (1-1). Motivated, Edmonton Fusion FC forged on. Despite a missed penalty, the victory goal for Fusion was scored by Fadi Khalil (2-1).

“This is our very first season when most of the other teams have been playing together for several years. We can be proud of ourselves,” said Kais Abid, captain of Edmonton Fusion FC.
