First match for Edmonton Fusion FC

Wednesday, May 3 – Edmonton Fusion FC played its very first match of its young history. A friendly game that had as main goal to prepare the upcoming season that will begin May 13 against Puma Old Boys team.

Edmonton Fusion had its first test before the start of the competition. The excellent weather conditions allowed for a beautiful soccer practice. “This match allowed players to start creating automations against one of the best teams of the last season,” said Maher Elaissi, Vice President and coach of the team.

The opponent of the day had finished the previous season with the best attack (63 goals) and defense (21).

The first half ended with an unfavorable 4-0. It could have been higher without the decisive interventions of the Fusion goalkepper.

The second half was much better for the team. The young star of the Edmonton Fusion, Joël Gnabouyou, showed all his talent. With his presence in the midfield, he scored with a beautiful shot. The Fusion scored two more goals later (5-3) before the opponent took the lead with a final score of 7-3.

“The most important thing was to create team cohesion,” Maher said.
