A beautiful win

It took the penultimate game to see the biggest victory for the Edmonton Fusion FC against Apox. In spite of a few scares, Fusion came out on top with many scoring opportunities and 5 goals! Beautiful!

It was probably the most important game of the season. Dominant, Fusion scored the first goal on a beautiful free kick by Maher Elassi (0-1). Apox was quite dangerous but Fusion goalkeeper, Julien Gobout, made two great saves. However, a defensive mistake allowed Apox to equalize few minutes later (1-1). Fusion had several opportunities by Eric Brown and Atef Bayouli before Apox took the lead just before half-time (1-2).

During the break, coach Carlos gave new instructions to the players. Edmonton Fusion took things in hand and equalized in the first minutes of the second period with an incredible goal by Dali Bezza (2-2). Five minutes later, it was Ahmed Alasamawi who gave the advantage to Fusion following a free kick by Fadi Khalil (2-3). Ahmed scored his second goal in two games. Fusion midfielder Aidan Anastacio also had an opportunity to score.

Still dominating, the “bleu et blanc” scored a fourth goal by Willian Stein (2-4), then a fifth at the end of game by Ayo Oladapo (2-5).

With a few curious spectators in attendance to support the team, Fusion achieved the greatest victory of its short history.

The next and final match of the season is Tuesday August 1, 2017, against Parkland 92.
